TRIBUTE TO MUYIWA, MY DEAR COUSIN.

Muyiwa, my dear cousin, i still can not believe that you will be seen no more. I was in denial because I believed you would pull through the sickness and we would thereafter joke about it. I remember our years as growing children and the warmth that we all shared. That actually was something we inherited from our fathers who, though of different mothers, maintained their bond as sons of the same father, our grandfather, Benjamin Okunola Asenuga.

Your laughter lit up every room you were found, and I remember that principled as you were, i could use that “Muyiwa, i am older than you”, and you would smile and say “Dupe, thats true” as we both laughed. I am just four months and some days older but we both joked about it as if i was a zillion years older. Of course, when we were both in our undergraduate years at the then Ogun State University, everyone knew we were cousins because you would visit me at Ijebu Igbo though your campus was in Ago Iwoye. You usually came with three of your friends- Dele Solanke, Segun Odubela(both of blessed memories) and Femi Durojaye, your cousin from your mother’s family-who also became my friends in the process.

A couple of times when you came to Ibadan to buy your farm implement, you would call beforehand and tell me, “mo ma ya ni office e, amala de ni mo ma je”.And, I always looked forward to those visits. The last time I saw you was when we were in Aparaki to bury our Aunt Oluremi. We were together throughout talking about the family strings we shared. Oh, Muyiwa! You were more than family—you were a friend. Your kindness, strength, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew you. Though your time with us was far too short, your legacy lives on in the memories we cherish and the love you gave so freely. Life feels emptier without you, but we find comfort in knowing you are at peace. You will always be in our hearts, missed deeply, and remembered with endless love and gratitude. I hope you get to see our grandfather; my father, Sunday Olusola; of course, your parents and oh, don’t forget to say hello to Seyi Obinrin-Seyi Asenuga Adeosun, too. I miss you guys very sorely!

Adieu, Muyiwa.

Your cousin,

MODUPE ASENUGA OLUBANJO.

Tribute to my Uncle

Uncle Muyiwa was a calm and steady presence in our lives — stoic, kind, and always composed. He had a smile that could brighten any room and a quiet strength that made you feel safe and seen.
He didn’t need to say much to make an impact. Just being around him brought a sense of peace. He was deeply loved — not just by family, but by everyone who knew him.
We’ll miss his warmth, his calm spirit, and that unforgettable smile. Thank you, Uncle Muyiwa, for being exactly who you were. We carry your memory with us always.

In Loving Memory of Brother

Losing you has created a great loss I’m still struggling to comprehend..

You were more than a brother to me — you were my shield, my cover, and my light. I walked in your shadow proudly, following your steps from school to career, because you made it all look so graceful.

Your smile had a way of calming storms, your style was effortless, your intelligence inspiring, and your humor—unforgettable. You carried us all with strength and quiet dignity.

It’s hard to say goodbye, but I carry your legacy in me — definitely every step I take forward will still be in your footsteps.

Rest well, big brother. You will always be and live in me.

Tribute to Olumuyiwa Temitope Asenuga

My dearest brother Olumuyiwa,

You were more than just my elder brother-you were my”5and 6,” my “Egbon mi atata.” In every moment of need, you stood as my unshakable foundation, my trusted prayer partner, and my cherished confidant.

Your gift was in listening truly to all my concerns, no matter how small or significant. Through your example, you taught me the profound importance of generosity toward those less fortunate. Your heart always carried the weight of concern for all your siblings, watching over us with unwavering care.
The countless hours you spent in prayer, interceding on our behalf, demonstrated your deep spiritual devotion. When we lost our parents, you stepped into their roles with such natural grace and strength, becoming our family’s anchor in the storm.

The struggles we faced-you never left my side. You walked through them with me,shouldering burdens that were never yours alone to carry. The depth of my love for you cannot be captured in words.

Your life’s journey is complete now-you came, you fought, and you conquered.I find peace knowing you rest in the loving embrace of God.

With all my love and eternal gratitude,

Taiwo Olusola Asenuga Olatunbosun
